Pepper; yes I know some us are not aware that apart from spicing your food, it also has health benefits. Some of these health benefits will definitely surprise you. I have made a pretty long list, well not so long. By the time you are done going through all, you will eat pepper with more confidence than you already do. You might even fall in love with pepper (just kidding). Here we go!

RED PEPPERS

 

Did you know that red pepper contains more than 200 per cent vitamin C? vitamin C is a powerful anti-oxidant which also help in the absorption of iron in the body.
Did you also know that red pepper contains lots of vitamin B6 and magnesium? Vitamin B6 and magnesium helps to decrease pre-menstrual anxiety. So ladies, when your hormones start acting up before menstruation take some doses of red pepper.
The high constituent of vitamin A in red pepper improves night vision to a high degree. So when someone tells you that you will see red, well see it as a good thing. (just kidding).
Lycopene is the constituent of red pepper that gives it the red colour. This lycopene helps in preventing cancer especially prostate and lung cancer.
Red peppers you burn more calories by activating thermogenesis and increasing metabolism.

CAYENNE PEPPER


Do you know that cayenne pepper;

  • Prevents clotting of blood
  •  Helps in the digestion of food

BLACK PEPPER


Black pepper is another kind of pepper with enough health benefits you did not before now.
Here are some of them;
Black pepper contains vitamin C which enables it to act as an antibiotic,  aiding your body to fight free radicals.
It also eases digestion.
Are you suffering from dandruff? Black pepper is the perfect solution for you. Please don’t overdo the application of the black pepper to avoid burning your scalp.
The anti-bacterial properties serve as the treatment for a cough and cold also.

CHILI PEPPER


Contains;
  • Vitamin C, B1, B2
  • Copper
  • Carotenoids
  • Flavonoids

With these contents, chilli pepper;
Acts as the painkiller, anti-asthma, anti-flu and as a diuretic.
It relieves rheumatic pains, lymph node swelling and boils.

Remember, don’t overuse any of these peppers irrespective of their awesome health benefits.
Overuse could cause irritation of the digestive system and urinary tract.
